Wednesday 12 July
Arrive at the Gard de Lyon at 15h23 & drop off luggage at the hostel.
Walk into city centre and visit Notre Dame & Île de la Cité, l'Hôtel de Ville, Tour de St. Jacques, La Conciergerie, Sainte Chapelle. Dinner at La Défense.
Evening Tour: Take métro to Louvre-Rivoli (yellow line 1) and walk through Le Palais du Louvre, Les Pyramides & Les Tuileries Gardens to Place de la Concorde; walk up the Champs Élysées to the Arc de Tiomphe; then back to hostel from Charles de Gaulle Étoile to Saint Paul (yellow line 1).
Thursday 13 July
Take the métro to Les Invalides. Tour the Military Museum and Napoléon's Tomb.
Walk to the Eiffel Tower via the Champs de Mars. Lunch.
Walk to Champ de Mars, Tour Eiffel Station, travel to Les Invalides, then take line 13 to Basilique de St. Denis. See Church de St. Denis & Tombs. Go to Carrefour supermarché for dinner food.
Take line 13 back to Place de Clichy & change to line 2 for Anvers. Sacré Coeur & Montmartre, Moulin Rouge.
Friday 14 July
Take the métro to Le Louvre Museum (Louvre-Rivoli, line 1). Lunch.
Late afternoon trip to Luxembourg (line B) seeing Le Panthéon & Rue Mouftard.
Métro to La Défence (line 1) for Auchon supermarché, dinner and La Grande Arche.
Saturday 15 July
Métro to Notre Dame (Saint Michel Notre Dame, C line). Then métro to La Madelaine (line 12 or 14) for Église de la Madeleine, Fauchon, Opéra House & Place Vêndome, Boulevard Haussman.
Excursion to Versailles (RER C), arriving about 13h00, touring the Château from 13h30 to 15h00, then round gardens from 15h00 till grand finale at 17h00; leave when ready.
Free time for the Tour Eiffel, Champs Élysées, Louvre, le Printemps & les Galéries LaFayette (department stores), etc.
Night excursion to Notre Dame for buskers.
Sunday 16 July
Visit Musée d'Orsay (C line)
Métro to Paris Montparnasse (go to Les Invalides on line 1, then change to blue line 13 to Montparnasse Bienvenue).
Afternoon excursion to Chartres Cathedral, departing 13h06 and arriving in Chartres at 14h10. Depart Chartres at 17h35, arriving in Paris at 18h50.
Monday 17 July
Depart to London St Pancras from the Gard du Nord at 11h13, arriving at 12h39 (report by 10h00), on the Eurostar.
