The flight over was good, sat next to the aisle and Ollie Wood. on the movie i watched Sherlock S4 (excellent, but not up to the old standard), The Founder ( V good movie and definitely worth the watch, Nick Offerman is great and so is Michael Keating), 1/2 of Gold ( first half was good then second half bored me too much), 4 episodes of Atlanta (new show from Donald Glover/Childish Gambino which is amazing). Emirates was excellent and slept 9 hours. The airport at Dubai was huge and unnecessary, i had decent Nasi Goreng. the flight to Athens was uneventful but managed to watch the All Blacks, finish Atlanta (9/10) and won Millionaire 3 times.

Athens: - Day 1 is spent seeing the changing of the guard at Parliament which was pretty dumb, and going up Mt. Lykevittos in 35* heat. I have O Thanasis Souvlaki and was excellent. rooming with Zambuto and James Walsh
              - Day 2 is spent going to the archaeological museum which was incredible, Acropolis and         Museum, and the Greek Agora. i had the best sandwich i have ever had from a chain store bakery. the temperature got up to 40*
             - Day 3 is spent travelling 2.5h to Delphi. The temple and theatre are incredible and are worth seeing, as well as an ancient water spring which was beautiful. it poured with Rain which unexpected but pleasant. passing through a small mountainous skiing village was a highlight. After having a 2.2 euro gyro (excellent) i buy a pair of Olympiakos shorts and we head on a night walk. seeing the ruined the temple of Zeus was incredible, however Hadrian's Arch, Roman Agora, water tower and Olympic arena weren't too good.
-Day 4 is spent seeing Corinth and Mycenae which were more impressive in 37* heat. the bus ride to Patra is largely uneventful but the water along the coast teased us in the hot bus. we wait at the ferry terminal for 5 hours for the ferry to depart. I room with Rishi, Jonty Ruha and Luca Mercer which is a great combo.
-Day 5 is spent on the boat. After a long sleep i get ripped off on a smoothie and learn to play 500 while Zambuto chats up a group of Austrians.  Nothing on the ship works so prices are only marginally cheaper due to this and the delayed departure. Sam falls asleep in the sun for 4 hours so he's still recovering

Italy: - We arrive in Ancona late at night ad are forced to sleep on the station floor, until we are awoken by Police as we could not sleep on the floor so that was only 45 minutes of a 6 hour wait for the train over. we wait for the train, and collapse on the seats. we arrive in Rome at 7:30 in the morning. I'm rooming at a decent backpacker's with Sam, Zambuto, Derek Huynh, Andy HIckman and Luca Mercer. we're right by the Termini station. we say Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede, S. Angeli degli Angeli, S. Mraia della VIttoria, S. Pietro in vincoli, S. Maria in cosmedin and S. John the Lateran. The churches are all incredible but S. John is the most incredible. In contrast the Roman stuff like the imperial Forum, Augustan forum, Ara Caeli, Trajan's column, Capitoline Museum, Theatre of Marcellus and Circus Maximus are all incredible. the Victor Emmanuel II monument is obscene but also incredible, and was improved by AS history. Pizza for dinner was pre darn good, and so was the arancini. At night we see the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps. the steps were crap but the fountain was very cool.
       - Day 2 contains the Pantheon, Castel Sant'angelo, Piazza del Populo and accompanying church, Ara Pacis and Piazza Navona. the supermarket where we buy breakfast has amazing pizza so thats my daily lunch. the afternoon trip to Hadrian's villa was pretty average until i saw the Canopus, which was one of the best things i've seen. Carbonara for dinner was Inferior to mum's.
       - Day 3 had the Vatican. queueing for 2 hours was worth it to see the map room and the Sistine Chapel. St Peter's is outstanding but unfortunately we cannot rub the foot. that evening i use my superior navigating to find my way there from the Vatican. The carbonara was good but still inferior and the PIzza was top quality.
        - Day 4 is spent in Napoli and Pompeii. Naples is a hole but the excavation museum was worth seeing. Pompeii truly is a sight to behold, and is worth the train ride down there. it is incredibly well preserved and is a must see. again Pizza was excellent.
-Day 5 contains the Roman Forum and all it contains, the palatine hill, and the Colloseum. the Colloseum is great but the forum is better. dinner was again great.

Now you're up to date. 2 churches i haven't mentioned are the Jesuit churches Il Gesu and S. Ignazio. both are incredibly lavish and truly show the power and wealth of the church.
