Having just completed a 2 hour bus ride in what was perhaps the hottest weather so far, we arrived at the Greek ferry terminal only to find that our overnight ferry scheduled for 7pm was in fact delayed for 4 hours. This resulted in much disappointment due to the fact that this would mean we would arrive in Italy around 10pm the next night, causing us to miss the planned train to Rome and forcing us to sleep on the ground of the train station. With 3 hours to kill before boarding, we had several options. Some, including myself, decided to play the card game 'scum' (probably our most common pastime) while others occupied themselves by reading or listening to music. After Hamish was accused by a shopkeeper of stealing a box of Pringles he had bought earlier in the supermarket and Arthur was harassed for jamming his finger in a fridge, we came to the consensus that Greeks were generally aggressive people, however this is to be expected from a country in the middle of a financial crisis. When we had finally boarded, we were bitterly disappointed to find that the rooms were about 8 square metres between 4 people and the beds were constantly shaking. However despite these drawbacks, the cruise has mostly been enjoyable and relaxing. For the first time on the trip, we were allowed to wake up after 7am, which was greatly appreciated by all the boys. Not willing to give up 10€ for breakfast at the restaurant, we tucked in to our bread and chips we had bought the previous day in preparation for the cruise.
