On the plane from Auckland to Dubai I was on the aisle seat with Ben and Arthur next to me, I slept for 10 hours and watched The Accountant, Cars and La La Land. I ate MacDonalds at the Dubai airport after looking through Duty Free and treated myself to a smoothie. On the plane from Dubai to Athens I slept for 2 more hours and watched the All Blacks game.
We arrived in Athens saw the government building and the changing of the guard and saw some artefacts in the syntagma square train station. Walked across town with our suitcases for a couple kms to hotel economy. Out for dinner in central Athens before walking up Mt. Lykevittos - everyone very tired and hitting bed hard.
Day 2 National Archaeological Museum, train to Acropolis+Parthanon(which I snagged a piece of), Greek Agora, Temple of Hephaestus + small museum (Stoa of Attalos), New Acropolis Museum, back to Syntagma Square/Monastariki square for shopping/dinner. I bought 12 mini Greek Gods that sit on a rock for 55 Euros.
Day 3 - Delphi bus trip (nice small ski village which I want to visit again) Delphi temples + Athletics track + holy spring water. Bus back to Delphi. Walk around Athens - Temple of Zeus + Olympic track etc.
Day 4- pack up, bus to Corinth - canal + boring ruins (cute dog pics though). Off to Mycenae to Agamemnon's palace. Bus ride to Patra - Ferry is delayed so played 4 hours of scum and was asked to leave the cafe table many times, board at 9:30 rather than 6. Ferry was better than expected and was joined by a group of hot German exchange students.
Day 5- Chill day on the ferry, early morning we chilled in the sun on top deck and played arcade games with Josh.
